Letovnik (Bulgaria) to Istambul (Turkey)

Distance: 304km
Departure : 02/03/09
Arrival : 03/03/09

It was really hard to leave the peaceful company of Letvonic but travel is also this: to leave a place when you feel like at home...

The night on the train wasn't easy and realaxing like we tought it could be at the beginning of the jouney, language barriers and a lack of kindness in some bulgarian railway employers brought us to argue
with a cheaf of a wagon who tryed to fire us out of the train once on the Turkish border and 20 euro of backshish to pay to the chief of the other wagon to let us stay there for the night.

Once in Istambul we housed in Haxan's flat, a nice apartment in Levent where he lives with a flatmate. Even if we spendt 3 days in Istambul this time we hadn't lots of chance to share the time with our hoster and we think it was a pity 'coz the first impression that he gave us was good.

Anyway, about Istambul we could write as much as we want and we think that we will not be able to say anything about it that wasn't already sayed by someone else. Beautyful, crowded, multietnic, fascinating, expencive...the old Costantinopolis is for shure a place to visit but we suggest to go along toward east to have a better idea of the country.
